The biggest island the world, Australia was inhabited by the humans practically 45,000 years ago. That is why the indigenous tribes of Australia truly claim that they are the genuine survivors of Australia. They really owe Australia along with their magnificent culture and have competed with all-natural disasters and calamities over thousands of years.

They had been bruised, they have been thrashed and they have been banged by the invaders and the colonizers. The only motive behind that was to uphold the racial discrimination. This predicament became worse right after the arrival of the white people in Australia and they entirely misjudged the aboriginal cultural values of the indigenous people of Australia.

Out of the total population of the indigenous or aboriginal individuals of Australia, most of them live in the eastern parts of the continent. 63% of Indigenous people reside in New South Wales, Queensland and Victoria although Western Australia and the Northern Territory contribute only 28% of the Indigenous population. In Australia they are mainly referred as the aboriginal Australians and the word Indigenous for them is largely disliked. There had been far more than 250 languages spoken by Indigenous Australians before the arrival of Europeans. But most of them are becoming extinct now and presently only 12-15 languages are being utilised by the aboriginal or indigenous men and women of Australia. The aboriginal or indigenous folks of Australia are divided in numerous regional groups. Some of the indigenous or aboriginal folks groups of Australia incorporate Koori, Murri, Tiwi , Palawah, Anangu, Nunga and Wangai etc.

Australia.  What comes to thoughts when I say that?  For me it is sun, surf, and beach.  But on occasion I also consider that when I consider of my own homeland of New Zealand.  I have not been to Australia myself, despite the fact that a lot of other Kiwis now contact Australia residence.  I don’t think you can count a stopover at Melbourne Airport as possessing visited!  So what is Australia like, and is my own point of view the right 1?

Sand and sea?  That is how I envision Australia (and Queensland in distinct), huge clean beaches, emerald blue seas.   Australia has a massive coastline of course by being a large island the ‘length’ is a whopping 25,760 km².  But what of its coastal scenery?  Are there just beach soon after beach like I imagined?   Australia has 7 properly known ‘states’ but also has numerous ‘territories’,  the ones everyone appears to know are:  Queensland, Northern Territory, Western Australia, South Australia, Victoria, Tasmania and New South Wales.  All of which have coastal borders.  But appear inland and the landscape alterations.  The other vision I have is nevertheless sand, but this time DESERT sand, sand, brown, sand, dry, hot, sand …. How wrong is my vision?  Come along as I picture and then appropriate the image I have of Australia from state to state.

Queensland has some of the world’s most famous beaches with Surfers Paradise and Gold Coast, perhaps this is exactly where I get my vision from.  White sandy beaches, blue water, tanned pleased people?  But is this all?  Yes and no.  Along with the white sandy beaches flanked by majestic palm trees, Queensland also has some spectacular rocky coastline, beaches surrounded by lush rainforests and cities located correct along breathtaking beaches.  Queensland is a state of numerous landscapes, ranging from sunny tropical coastal areas, lush rainforests to dry inland locations.    Queensland is not just beach and sand as I found, and I now would even far more so like to check out and see all this wondrous beauty for myself.  Bunya Mountains is a national park with mountains covered by the largest region of bunya pines remaining in the globe.  It sounds like a exclusive spot to pay a visit to, mild climate, steep terrain and splendid views.  Yes, I need to go there.  And whilst I’m in the area, an additional ‘must see’ is the ‘Great Dividing Variety’ which is Australia’s most substantial mountain range and the third longest in the planet at much more than three,500 km long! The width varies from 160 km to over 300 km, so not some thing you will walk in an afternoon.  That was the other thing about Australia, it is so massive.  Even though I find it difficult to think about, I do know that almost everything is larger in Australia than it is in New Zealand.  Without having seeing it for myself I cannot make the comparison and have to believe what I’m told by those who have noticed it. Off course no check out would ever be total with out seeing the ‘Great Barrier Reef’.

It is composed of over 2,900 person reefs and 900 islands stretching more than 2,600 km.  So once again, not some thing you can just see in 1 afternoon! Told you every little thing in Australia is Large.  The Wonderful Barrier Reef is a wildlife buff’s paradise and obviously I’ll be placing that on my itinerary.  Just appear at what lives there, how can you not want to go? Sea-turtles, sea-snakes, corals, 30 species of whales, dolphins and porpoises (which are associated to dolphins and whales) saltwater crocodiles, 125 species of shark, stingray, skates or chimaera (a cartilaginous fish) – live on the reef.  Close to 5, 000 of mollusk, like the giant clam, 49 species of pipe fish (which is related to the seahorse), 9 species of seahorse and at least 7 species of frog inhabit the islands.  Yes, set aside a handful of days (or weeks) for this location.

Soon after all this gorgeous water I could really nicely be in the mood for some tropical forests.  Nicely, guess what?  Queensland has that also!  The ‘Wet Tropics of Queensland’ is about 8,940 km² and has many National Parks and reserves, some of them are ‘Barron Gorge National Park’, ‘Black Mountain National Park’, ‘Cedar Bay National Park’ and ‘Daintree National Park’, as nicely as more than 700 protected locations like privately-owned land.  Once again, the size alone is spectacular, wonder how large it all is in true life.

I’ll find out soon sufficient, when I finally do make the trip over.  Just hunting at what there is to see in one of the states of Australia, I’d say I’ll either be there a quite long time searching around or end up being a normal visitor exploring one particular state at the time.  Subsequent time I’ll envision Northern Territory, want to come and join me?
