A deadly snake of Africa which hides itself in the thick forests is the cousin of the deadly black Mamba. This is Green Mamba, a lethal beauty which is a bit lighter and slim than the black Mamba. The Green Mamba belongs to the family members Elapidae. Green Mamba is additional classified in two categories

1-     The Eastern Green Mamba

The eastern green mamba has a quite brilliant green skin with a lighter vibrant greenish-yellow belly. The eastern green Mamba is considerably smaller than other Mamba species with an typical length of 1.6 meters. The Male Eastern Green Mambas are bit bigger than their females. They are endemic to the Southern and Eastern African regions. The Eastern Green Mamba lives in the trees, coastal scrub, woodland, moist savanna, bamboo and mango plantations. The Eastern Green Mambas are hardly seen on the ground chasing their prey. They could creep with a speed of 7m/h therefore they are extremely quick movers. The Eastern Green Mamba is a quite poisonous snake though not an aggressive snake. The venom consists mostly of neurotoxins, cardiotoxins, calcicludine, and fasciculins. The Eastern Green Mamba preys usually during the day and its diet plan consists mainly of adult and juvenile birds, bird eggs, frogs, lizards, rodents, and other small mammals. The Eastern green mamba is named Dendroaspis angusticeps scientifically.

The Western Green Mamba is comparatively longer but a quite disastrous snake which lives in the tropical woodlands of West Africa. Some of their population is also observed close to hedges and shrubs. They are also distinctive due to the fact of their long tapering tail. The average length of the Western Green Mamba might be of 2 meters even though some of its species can develop to maximum lengths of three.2 meters. The Western Green Mamba generally hunts birds even bats and small mammals like rodents, mouse and squirrels. The Western Green Mambas could differ in their colors but mainly they are found in greenish yellow, olive green, emerald green etc. In contrast to the Eastern Green Mamba, they can hunt their prey at evening as effectively.
